Crew bound for the Boston Rowing Marathon

21 September 2008

The 31 mile course from Boston to Lincoln is an annual test of endurance through the Lincolnshire countryside and considered by many to be the “rowing equivalent of the London Marathon”.

Amongst those crews attending the event this year from Star Club will be a S4 mixed 8+; consisting of (from stroke) Wiebke Starke, Aga Gagol, Andy Chillingsworth, Andy Whale, Mark Holden, Trevor Barton, Janet Tredget and Carol Usher, coxed by Laura Wallbank.

None of whom have rowed the course before and all are doing it for the dual purposes of raising money through sponsorship for the East of England Air Ambulance and to put towards buying a new boat for the club’s novice squads.

If you would like more information, contact details for Laura Wallbank, Star Club’s PR Officer, can be found on the Club Website at www.star.altacontact.co.uk
