Cardiac Arrest

01 September: Sawston


Anglia two was tasked to Sawston to assist EEAST and police with a man in his fifties who suffered a cardiac arrest. Babcock pilots landed the helicopter close to the scene.

Doctor Jon Townsend, Critical Care Paramedic Gary Spitzer and Supervisor Doctor Neil Berry provided enhanced critical care to resuscitate the patient, including using a defibrillator and mechanical chest compression device and taking control of the patient's breathing. 

The HEMS team then accompanied the patient to Addenbrooke's Hospital, by land ambulance, for further treatment.
