Mission Report

Cardiac Arrest

29 August: Sudbury

Anglia Two was tasked to Sudbury to assist EEAST with a man in his forties who suffered a cardiac arrest. Pilots Martin Polding and Hal Erikson landed the helicopter in a field close to the scene.

Doctor Saad Jawaid, Critical Care Paramedic Sam Sweeney and Supervisor Doctor Patricia Mills gave the patient a full assessment and provided enhanced pre-hospital care, including use of the mechanical chest compression device and assisting with the patient's breathing.

The man was then flown to the Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge for further treatment.
