Road Traffic Collision

30 March: Near Royston


The critical care team from Anglia Two was tasked near to Royston by rapid response vehicle to assist EEAST, Police and Fire teams with two patients who were involved in a road traffic collision.

Doctor Sam Todd and Critical Care Paramedic Gary Spitzer gave the first patient, a woman in her twenties a full assessment with use of an advanced ultrasound monitor and provided enhanced pre-hospital care at the scene including administering advanced pain relief.

The HEMS crew then accompanied the first patient to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, by road ambulance, for further treatment.

The second patient, a man in his forties, was given a full assessment and the crew provided enhanced pre-hospital care including administering advanced pain relief and splinting an injury,

The patient was then transported to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by the EEAST land ambulance team, for further treatment.
