About the Lottery

By playing the East Anglian Air Ambulance lottery, you will be helping us to save lives across East Anglia

How it works

What is the lottery?

The EAAA lottery is a weekly lottery run to raise funds for East Anglian Air Ambulance. Members register to play for £1 a week (or more) and are then entered into a prize draw on Fridays.

Proceeds from the EAAA charity lottery make up 45% EAAA’s total fundraising, so it is incredibly important for the work we do.

How to play

Membership of the weekly lottery game is just £1 per chance per week, and players can sign up to more chances.

Players can pay monthly, quarterly or annually by direct debit, cheque, debit card or by cash via newsagents. You can register online, by phone on 03450 669 999 or by post.

When we have your completed membership application, we enter your details onto our lottery system. You will be sent a membership card and details of your lucky number.

How it helps

By playing the lottery you are helping us to provide the best possible outcomes for people who are unfortunate enough to be involved in life-threatening incidents or medical emergencies

Supporting our lottery is one of the easiest and most sustainable ways to keep us flying and saving lives.

There are 18 guaranteed prizes available to win in our lottery draw every week:

1 x £1000        1 x £250           5 x £100        11 x £50

All our lottery players are also automatically entered in an accumulator prize every week. The prize increases by £500 until it’s won, up to a maximum of £25,000!

There is no need to make a claim as we automatically send out all the winners’ cheques by 1st class post on Friday afternoons.

A list of winners is published on our website every Friday.

You must be 18+ to play. Please view our Social Responsible Gambling Policy,  Cash Handling and Money Laundering Policy and Lottery Terms and Conditions below.

When you pay £1 to play our lottery, 78.6p of this goes directly to the charity.  The law states that at least 20p of every £1 raised on society lotteries should be returned to the charity, so we are extremely proud that we are heads and shoulders above this!

Of the money that is left from your £1, 20.2p goes on the expenses of running the lottery and 2.2p goes on the prize fund.

How we get to our figures:

The overall amount returned is the official amount returned as per our Gambling Commission return documents for 2019.

In 2019, EAAA received £5,766,116 in ticket sales, of which £124,600 was spent on prizes and £1,110,030.72 was spent on running the lottery and recruiting new members.

We are conducting calls to help raise vital funds through our weekly lottery. The calls are asking existing lottery players to give an extra pound a week to help support our lifesaving charity, and in return they will receive an additional lottery number and therefore more chances to win.

We’re only contacting people who have opted-in to receive calls and are working with a professional telemarketing company called Unity4 to help us do this. The telephone number agents are calling from is 01603 294 803, and at the start of the call, they will always say they are calling on behalf of East Anglian Air Ambulance lottery. If you miss a call, please do not be alarmed.

The easiest and most cost effective way for you to pay for, and for the charity to administer, your lottery membership is by Direct Debit.

The regular monthly Direct Debit amount is £4.34 per number . This is calculated by dividing £52 (one play per week) by 12 months.

The monthly amount is dependant on the number of plays you purchase per week. For example, 2 plays per week would be £8.68 per month, 3 plays per week would be £13.02 per month.

For all new Direct Debit payments, the first payment taken will be £5 per number. This is to ensure that you have enough in your account for the first month should you start in a 5 week month.

This first monthly payment is also dependant on the number of plays you purchase per week. For example, 2 plays per week would make the first payment £10, 3 plays per week would be £15 for the first payment.

If you have any questions regarding your Direct Debit, please contact us on 0345 669 999 or by emailing info@eaaa.org.uk.

Due to changes in the Gambling Commission regulations. From the 14th April 2020, you will no longer be able to use credit cards for any form of gambling.  To be compliant, and also to be most cost effective with our website development costs, we are bringing this forward and from 30th March 2020 you will no longer be able to use credit cards to play our weekly lottery or purchase raffle tickets.

You will still be able to play by using your debit card or via direct debit, which would always be our preferred method as it is the most cost effective method for the charity.
