Mission Report

Cardiac Arrest

27 April: Mildenhall

Anglia Two was tasked to Mildenhall to assist EEAST with a man in his sixties who suffered a cardiac arrest. Babcock pilots landed the helicopter in a field a short walk from the scene.

Doctor Ben Peirce, Critical Care Paramedic Joe Dowsing, and Supervisor Doctor Paul Rees gave the patient a full assessment and provided advanced pre-hospital care at the scene, including defibrillating and ventilating the patient, performing chest compressions, and administering advanced medication.

The HEMS crew then accompanied the patient to the Royal Papworth – Cambridge Hospital, by road ambulance, for further treatment.
