Have you ever wondered what happens inside your air ambulance helicopter base?
Step inside our Norwich base. See the helicopter up close, meet the crew who fly it, and find out how every second counts when reaching the most seriously unwell and critically injured people in our region.

Bookings for our next base open day will open at 10am on 26 August 2026.
- Booking is essential and spaces are limited!
- Bookings can only be made online. We cannot accept bookings over the phone or via email.
- Ticket bookings are restricted to a maximum of four per person. This measure has been implemented to help mitigate the high number of no-shows experienced in previous years.
- If you are no longer able to attend your session, please contact us to cancel on [email protected] so that we can offer your place to someone else to enjoy.

Highlights of our Base Open Days
- Go behind the scenes – Explore the hangar where our helicopter lives, see where the crew rest between nighttime callouts, and see our interactive training room in action.
- Meet the experts – Our guides will walk you through the base, bringing it to life with facts and their own personal stories.
- See the service in action – Our crews are on standby 24/7, ready to respond at a moment’s notice. While some areas will be restricted due to operations, we will make every effort for you to see the helicopter, tasking dependant.
Explore the village
After your tour, see how the charity works beyond the helicopter. Try a free CPR taster session, suit up in a flight suit for a photo, or grab something from our shop – mascot teddies, jigsaws, mugs, and yes, even Christmas cards.
