The core counties we cover are Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk – home to over three million people. It’s an amazing mix of places: sandy beaches along the coast, busy towns and cities, quiet villages and farmland – and all the roads that connect them.
Our helicopters and critical care cars mean we can get to people facing the most serious emergencies, wherever they are, and bring lifesaving care as quickly as possible – and we couldn’t do it without you.
Covering the county’s urban and agricultural areas, our crews responded by air or road to reach people in need of urgent critical care. The country is primarily served by the crew of Anglia One (Norwich), which has its base at Helimed House at Norwich Airport.
In 2024, our crews treated 877 people in the county of Norfolk.
Including the towns of Ipswich, Lowestoft and Bury St Edmunds, as well as rural, farming and coastal communities, our crews treated 344 patients in the county who needed the advanced medication, equipment and skills of East Anglian Air Ambulance. Due to the proximity of Newmarket, the crew may attend several injuries in the county as a result of equestrian-related incidents.
Home to Anglia Two (Cambridge), the crews from East Anglian Air Ambulance treated 447 people who were experiencing medical emergencies in 2024.
Cambridgeshire is also the location of Addenbrooke’s Hospital, our region’s Major Trauma Centre, which is the destination hospital of some of the most critically injured and unwell people who we’ve been called to help.
Bedfordshire is primarily served by our Anglia Two (Cambridge) crew.
In 2024, we treated 70 patients following a wide range of medical emergencies.
Our crew cover the county’s most serious incidents by air and road, including in the towns of Bedford and Luton.
