Medical Emergency

28 January: Near Royston


Anglia Two was tasked near to Royston to assist EEAST with a man in his sixties who suffered a medical emergency. Babcock pilots landed the helicopter in a field near to the scene.

Doctor Joanna Stevens, Critical Care Paramedic David Killingback, and Supervisor Doctor Paul Rees gave the patient a full assessment and provided immediate critical care at the scene including sedating the patient and use of a defibrillation device.

The HEMS crew then accompanied the patient to the Royal Papworth Cambridge Hospital, by road ambulance, for further treatment.
