Natalie says, “The EAAA Aftercare team supports patients, families and bystanders following an incident attended by the charity. After the crew has had contact, the support extends much further – in the days and weeks immediately after, to some years after the incident.”
This includes home visits, phone and video calls, signposting to other organisations for specialist help and support, organising base visits so people can reconnect with the crew who attended them, as well as connecting people with others in similar situations.
“I also enjoy working collaboratively working with other organisations, including the police, fire service, and ambulance service. The most rewarding part is working together to help people piece together and understand what happened to them or their loved one. We’ll provide ongoing support to those who need it, and it’s humbling to see people progress following a devastating incident.”
Natalie adds, “Often people don’t realise all the various ways we can connect and support them.”
Natalie says she’s also inspired by the resilience demonstrated by former patients, families and bystanders, and how much the support from the charity is truly appreciated.
Outside of EAAA, Natalie enjoys like walks with her dog, spending time with family and friends, live music, and baking – when she can find time!
