Part of the EAAA Anglia One (Norwich) crew, which provides 24/7 critical care by air and road to some of our region’s most seriously injured and unwell people, Dr Jim says: “I have always been passionate about looking after seriously ill and injured patients, striving to provide them with compassionate and skilled care during what is an incredibly frightening time for them. Working for EAAA allows me to provide my patients with advanced critical care interventions – which traditionally were provided only within a hospital – much earlier on in their journeys, meaning that they are more likely to survive and go on to make a good recovery.”
Jim has a particular interest in Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) and has nothing but gratitude for the people who make HEMS equipment, care and interventions possible. He adds that his favourite part of the role is working with a superb team of dedicated individuals “and it’s also nice to get outdoors and airborne after spending a lot of time inside a hospital!”
“Over the past four years, I have treated several patients who have survived and are now living fulfilling lives, purely because EAAA exists – which of course would not be the case if it wasn’t for the generosity and dedication of our donors, fundraisers, and supporters.”
When he’s not working, Jim enjoys spending time with his three children and enjoys running and playing football to “help blow away the cobwebs!”
