    1. Vinci/WT Parker Cycle Challenge 2015, Yorkshire @ RAF Menwith
      7:00 am – 10:00 pm

      Cycle sportive_event

A team of four cyclists from VINCI Facilities, a UK based Construction Company, and WT Parker, an Electrical and Mechanical Contractor, are taking on a challenge to help raise vital funds for EAAA.

The event is part of VINCIs ‘Stand Out and Make A Difference’ scheme where employees are encouraged to fundraise for a charity or help in the local community one day a year. This year they are hoping to complete a tour of USAF bases in the UK, attempting to cycle around 200 miles from RAF Menwith Hill in Yorkshire, to the VINCI office in Mildenhall, Suffolk – all in just 24 hours!

The team currently consists of four members; Matt Browne from WT Parkers, and James Coupe, Peter Hancock and Tim Colman from VINCI.

Having been introduced to the work of Air Ambulances after working with Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance on their new facility at RAF Waddington they chose to support EAAA as their local air ambulance charity.

Tim explained ‘Living just outside Norwich myself, and near to one of the helicopter flight paths to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, I was surprised to see just how many times the EAAA helicopter was ferrying casualties to the hospital. Now understanding the amount of help and assistance this charity funded service offers to the people and visitors to the whole of the East Anglian region, prompted me to suggest to the team that the EAAA should be the chosen beneficiaries of any sponsorship received from our challenge.’
