Krissy Pride

Krissy joined our Aftercare team in February 2026. She is also a critical care nurse and clinical educator with ten years’ experience at Cambridge University Hospitals, working across general, neuro, and trauma intensive care. She has a keen interest in research and has presented her work at a national level on several occasions. Her passion for aftercare developed through her role as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in critical care, where she supported patients throughout their rehabilitation journey until they returned home.

“This experience showed me the significant impact that aftercare can have on physical, emotional, and cognitive recovery, and how it can make a real difference in helping people return to daily life,” Krissy says. “Being able to continue that support beyond hospital is what inspired me to join East Anglian Air Ambulance’s Aftercare team.”

Her role involves offering psychological and wellbeing support, as well as bereavement support, to former patients, loved ones, and bystanders. This tailored approach helps people make sense of what happened and why, provide recovery advice and signposting, and support them as they navigate their journey back to everyday life.

Krissy says it’s a privilege to be welcomed into people’s lives at such a vulnerable time. Supporting patients to piece together their journey and make sense of their experience, as well as facilitating opportunities such as returning to base to meet the crew who cared for them, is incredibly rewarding.

“We understand that taking the first step to ask for support can feel difficult. We are here, ready to listen and help in a way that works for you. Our support is flexible and tailored, whether that’s through phone or text, hospital or home visits, or opportunities to visit our bases. We support not only our patients, but also their families, wider support networks, and bystanders who have witnessed a medical event. We have even worked with schools, workplaces and community groups to provide support where it’s needed most,” Krissy adds.

Originally from Cornwall. Krissy enjoys being by the sea. She’s also a big foodie and enjoys spending time with her two young children and their dog, as well as travelling and exploring new places.
