Two Bases. One Lifesaving Service.

Nobody decides when or where they have a cardiac arrest, a car accident, or a serious fall. It can happen at any time, anywhere. In that moment, the only thing that matters is how fast the right help can reach you.
That’s why we have two air bases. So that in the most serious emergencies, our crews can be by your side within minutes, wherever you are in our region, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
But our Cambridge crew are losing their home. Without a base in the centre of our region this lifesaving service is at risk, and critical care could take longer to reach you.

Imagine you’re the one who needs us. Our crews can arrive at your side within minutes, bringing hospital-level care to wherever you are. That’s possible because we have two air bases, so nobody waits for the same helicopter and critical care crew.

Jane's story
Two bases meant two emergencies didn’t have to compete for the same helicopter or crew.
Jane was walking her dogs when she caught her foot awkwardly and fell.
“I didn’t know it then, but my right femur had snapped in half. As crews arrived around me, I was frightened and couldn’t understand how an ordinary walk had gone so badly wrong” Jane explains.
Our Anglia Two crew from Cambridge were tasked to care for Jane. The 40-mile journey by air took just 17 minutes, bringing hospital-level care to a field near her home in West Norfolk.
What Jane didn’t know until later is that, while the crew were treating her, another emergency call came in elsewhere in Norfolk. Because there was a second base and a second crew ready to respond, that patient didn’t have to wait for a helicopter to reach them from further away.
