East Anglian Air Ambulance, a charity that provides 24/7 lifesaving critical care by air and road, has welcomed Peter Ballard to their board of trustees. Peter was formally appointed in June 2026 and brings extensive expertise and insight to the charity.
Peter’s career has been spent helping organisations grow through marketing, UX, and product and service design. He was co-founder of Foolproof, one of the UK’s leading Experience Design businesses, and prior to that was Marketing Director at Virgin Money. He is now a partner in Norwich’s only startup incubator, Akcela, helping the next generation of entrepreneurs to scale their businesses.
East Anglian Air Ambulance is a charity providing lifesaving critical care every day of the year across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. Whether by air or road, they bring hospital-level care to the most seriously ill and injured people in our region. From blood transfusions and pain relief to anaesthesia and emergency surgery, their specialist doctors and paramedics give patients the best chance of survival and recovery. Additionally, the charity also offers vital aftercare, trains people in lifesaving skills, and carries out clinical research to keep improving care.

Peter says,“East Anglian Air Ambulance provides a critical service relying entirely on charitable donations to keep flying. I am both honoured and excited to join the team of people dedicated to delivering this service to the East of England making sure patients get the care they need, when they need it most.”
Matthew Jones, East Anglian Air Ambulance Chief Executive, said, “We’re delighted to welcome Peter to the Board of Trustees. Every decision made comes back to one thing: making sure anyone facing a life-threatening emergency in our region receives the very best care when the very worst happens.”
Matthew continues, “Peter’s experience will support our governance and strategic approach to income generation, particularly as the charity continues to raise vital funds for the new Cambridge Air Base, a project that will help secure lifesaving care for future generations.”
