Our Resuscitation Excellence and Critical Care Training (REACT) course is aimed at experienced senior clinicians from Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care, Anaesthetics and Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine. This one-day course is for the advanced clinicians who respond when the protocol says to 'seek expert help', and who are relied upon to lead and teach others in advanced resuscitation skills and techniques. Together, we will tackle the challenging cases where there are no right answers and no easy options.
Our expert faculty will guide you through high-fidelity simulations with specific learning outcomes that are linked to evidence-based medicine. We will go far beyond resuscitation guidelines and protocols and will spend substantial time debriefing each simulation in detail in small groups. The simulations and debriefs are combined with short in-depth tutorial sessions to broaden and deepen resuscitation knowledge.
This course is a UK first and is a collaboration between the EAAA Academy of Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine and The ATACC Group, to provide a truly unique and immersive clinical experience.

REACT is aimed at senior clinicians (Consultants or peri-CCT registrars) who have completed or about to complete training in an acute speciality. This is usually Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Anaesthesia, Acute Medicine or Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine.
REACT aims to cover some of the most challenging clinical scenarios where acute specialities can be presented. These scenarios are not just challenging because of the medicines but also the human factors, lack of clear evidence and immediacy of the situation. It aims to tackle the areas where a protocol runs out and refers to “seek expert opinion”.
REACT will be taught using high fidelity simulation supported by the ATACC group. We will use immersive scenarios to challenge candidates and then complete and evidence supported de-briefs to engage the learning points. There will be an element of remote advice within the scenarios to challenge an area of practice which is not taught or experienced within most settings.
We aim to teach on common scenarios that are rarely seen. Some examples are taking cardiac arrest beyond ALS, congenital cardiac children, obstetrics, and complex trauma.
This course is unique as it combines the simulation expertise of the world renowned ATACC group with the clinical expertise of East Anglian Air Ambulance. It will aim to share the knowledge and experience of both faculties who, between them, are world leaders in resuscitation delivery.
