Mission Report

Cardiac Arrest

23 October: Norwich

Anglia One was tasked to Norwich to assist EEAST with a man in his sixties who had suffered a cardiac arrest. Pilots Rich Anderson and Rob Gleave landed the helicopter in a nearby playing field.

Doctor Toby Edmunds and Critical Care Paramedic Ben Caine provided enhanced critical care at the scene, including use of a specialist monitor to assess and treat the patient and assisting with the patient's breathing.

The HEMS team then accompanied the patient to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, by road ambulance, to continue monitoring him until he could get further treatment.
