Kate Goddard Clinical Liaison Officer

Kate, a Nurse for over 25 years, joined East Anglian Air Ambulance as an Aftercare Clinical Liaison Officer in June 2025. She has spent over 20 years working in Cardiology, and currently works in the Cardiology Department at the Norfolk and Norfolk University (NNUH) alongside her role at EAAA. She is passionate about working with people and supporting patients and their families.

“I like to give people the time they need and offer advice and support. My role as a Clinical Liaison Officer lends itself to this,” Kate says.

Kate adds that she feels it is valuable to be present and, through listening, enable patients to offload when they may not wish to, or be able, to with friends and family.

She sees many Helicopter Emergency Medical Service patients, especially those who have been attended by the EAAA crew following a cardiac arrest – and also sees the other side, when she can follow up with the patients and their family’s journey from critical care to discharge, through her role at the NNUH.

“Being able to enter somebody’s life during the most difficult and traumatic time and helping them through it, whether it is recovery or bereavement, is a really privileged position to be in,” Kate adds.

“It’s not always the patient who we support; equally important are relatives and friends – and the support we provide also extends to them”

Outside of work, Kate enjoys spending time with her family and long walks with her dog.
