James says, “At RAID we aim to be at the forefront of research development and utilise the latest evidence behind cutting-edge prehospital care, to innovate new treatments, equipment and skills, and improve outcomes for our patients.”
James has particular academic interests in the pre-hospital management of acute traumatic brain injury and out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Since helping to establish what is now the RAID group, he has authored multiple East Anglian Air Ambulance research papers in peer-reviewed journals, presented his work at national and international conferences, and serves on the Editorial Board of the Air Medical Journal. He is currently the clinical lead for BRAIN-FIRST, an East Anglian Air Ambulance innovative study exploring the use of prehospital brain biomarkers at the scene of an incident.
Outside of work, James enjoys travelling and spending time with friends and family, alongside his energetic 40-kg German Shepherd dog, Rex.
