Neil Flowers Consultant Paramedic

Neil is East Anglian Air Ambulance’s Head of Clinical Services, a Consultant Paramedic, and is a member of our clinical faculty group.

He joined the charity in 2008 and says the most rewarding part of his role is treating patients and helping them recover from their injury or illness. In 2023, Neil became one of a handful of paramedics in the UK to be awarded the title of Consultant Practitioner in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM). He dedicated many years of hard work which included a portfolio of clinical and operational experience to demonstrate that he operates as a Level 8 Consultant in PHEM.

Neil is passionate about clinical education and research. He contributes to PHEM training along with a variety of educational activity provided by East Anglian Air Ambulance. Neil actively participates our RAID (Research, Audit, Innovation and Development) group and clinical education through the Academy of Pre Hospital Emergency Medicine. Driven by innovation in the field of PHEM, our Academy of Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine identifies needs and upskilling opportunities. This post-graduate academic learning, in which Neil plays a significant educational role, aims to bring pre-hospital clinicians up to a higher level of skills and knowledge.

Neil still flies as part of the Anglia One (Norwich) and Anglia Two (Cambridge) crews, often alongside PHEM doctors and critical care paramedics who are new to East Anglian Air Ambulance. He is passionate about providing advanced critical care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to the most seriously ill and injured people in the region by air and road.

Of the charity’s kind and generous supporters, he says: “Simply, supporting East Anglian Air Ambulance means saving lives. Contributions great and small will help us to continue to reunite families with their loved ones and help people through the most devastating illness or injury.”
