Volunteer Vacancies
At EAAA we rely on our diverse range of volunteers, without who we couldn’t continue the work we do. Find out more about our volunteer roles today.
Below is a list of the volunteer roles we are currently hoping to fill.
If there is something in particular you would like to do or if you have any special skills that you think would be beneficial to us please do get in touch with our team! Only the Brave, East Anglian Air Ambulances mud obstacle race is back on Sunday 22 September 24! After the success of previous years we need your help to make it happen all over again. Only The Brave is a 6 or 10 mile obstacle race. Hearty shouts and encouragement, support and a big smile from all our volunteers will turn this event from being aspirational to inspirational.
We are regularly invited to attend events and they provide a great opportunity for us to talk about the work we do. We go to fetes, fairs and country shows, as well as carnivals and sporting events. We take the chance to share information about the charity and make sure we are spreading the word about the work of EAAA. If you like getting out and about and meeting people, this is the role for you.
We have collecting tins across the county in local shops, pubs and restaurants and are always looking for new opportunities to put out more, as well as reliable volunteers to look after the ones already distributed, which is where you come in.
In 2023, collection boxes raised over £66,000 for the charity. Even just one extra box could help raise vital funds and awareness for EAAA!
We are often asked to attend events and group meetings to present information to people who are interested in the work of East Anglian Air Ambulance. We need volunteers who enjoy speaking in public, are able to communicate clearly and who can inspire and motivate people to become supporters or even volunteers themselves. This work is invaluable in ‘spreading the word’ about what we do and how people can get involved.
We’re sure that you’ve seen the collectors as you walk into your local supermarket, or walk through your town centre, and collections are a very simple way to raise valuable funds. A couple of hours of your time can make a big difference; collecting for one day alone can raise £500! We need you to be the face of EAAA and stand with our bucket, a smile and engage with passers-by. It’s a great opportunity to meet lots of new people, including other volunteers, and to help us raise vital funds.
Due to the demand for our CPR sessions, an exciting opportunity has arisen for volunteers. We are seeking people willing to become Volunteer CPR demonstrators to deliver our free 1-hour CPR and defibrillator awareness sessions to community groups across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire. You’ll receive training from the CPR Training Team in how to deliver the course and ongoing monitoring and support will be provided.
You will be part of the local fundraising team in your area. Your role will include making deliveries and collections to/from the public and businesses. You will also be asked to support the team’s preparation for events by delivering stock and equipment to various venues across the county. This could include helping put up and then take down simple gazebos and display tables.
The East Anglian Air Ambulance Challenge Badge is a different and fun way to engage with schools and youth groups across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. Primarily aimed at children aged 10 -14 years old, the challenge is designed to teach participants about different aspects of the charity. In particular we want to teach participating groups all about the work of EAAA and the importance of CPR.
To provide more support to our Community Fundraising Team and give volunteers an opportunity to get involved in new and exciting roles, we have introduced Volunteer Fundraising Groups. These groups are responsible for raising funds and awareness in their local areas, to grow our reach across the region, increase our annual income and create new and lasting relationships with potential supporters. This also gives volunteers the chance to take on a new level of responsibility and act as ambassadors for EAAA, proudly representing the charity in the community.
If you have other special skills you'd like to volunteer to our life-saving charity, please fill in our volunteer enquiry form online. If you have any further questions please email volunteer@eaaa.org.uk or phone 03450 669 999.
