Introducing new trustees to the EAAA board

Marie Sigsworth

Marie Sigsworth is a senior director with over 35 years’ experience of Financial Services and more recently the technology start-up, social enterprise and non-profit sectors. Residing in Suffolk, Marie says: “I’m really excited to have been given the opportunity to take up the trustee role for EAAA and to contribute to the excellent work being delivered by such a forward-thinking charity. I hope to be able to share my experience to build on the successes and work with the team to continue to grow this vital local charity together.”

Charlotte Hignett

Charlotte Hignett has 15 years of experience leading and advising Boards on HR strategy and business transformation. She is a Board advisor to other charities and does a variety of volunteering in her local community, including as a Community First Responder with the East of England Ambulance Service.

Charlotte says: “I am delighted to be joining the EAAA Board. It is a privilege to contribute to this fabulous charity to secure its long-term sustainability and ensure that we make the right decisions for our donors. I have been lucky to work with purpose led organisations for much of my career and EAAA’s mission to bring life-saving critical care, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to the patient in the fastest time possible, is one I feel extremely passionate about. My volunteering with the emergency services has brought the invaluable services we offer into even sharper focus. Listed as one of the best places to work in the 2023 Sunday Times awards it is a culture that I am proud to be part of. A huge thank you to the team for a brilliant induction and a very warm welcome.”

Dr Tom Davis

Also joining the EAAA board of Trustees is Dr Tom Davis. Tom joins the EAAA Board having spent six years working alongside the charity in his roles within the East of England Ambulance Service. Having qualified as a General Practitioner in 2011, Tom developed a varied portfolio, within Health and Social Care, spanning Training and Education, Clinical Governance, Service Redesign and Strategic Commissioning. In 2016, Tom joined the Ambulance Service as Deputy Medical Director and left in 2022 after taking on the role of Interim Chief Executive in 2021. Since then, he has taken up a role as a Medial Director in Wales but maintains his links with the East of England and the wider NHS in England.

Tom says: “I am thrilled to be rekindling my affiliation with such a fantastic organisation, as well as with the rapidly evolving world of pre-hospital emergency health care. I have many great memories of working alongside the staff and volunteers of EAAA and the amazing work that the charity does in supporting our patients and communities. I hope to not only contribute to the clinical aspects of the charity but be part of the many wider developments of the organisation in the future.”
