Over 1,800 people took part in the Only The Brave mud obstacle course on Sunday (April 7) at Elveden Estate – a record breaking number – which is on target to raise more than £180,000.
Runners on the challenging course faced up to 35 obstacles, fighting through heaps of straw bales, water pits and ploughing through muddy trenches.
The event is in aid of EAAA’s life-saving work, a charity which relies on donations and operates two high-tech helicopters from its Norwich and Cambridge bases every day of the year. In February the charity launched a new campaign to raise an additional £1m annually to help them become a 24/7 service.
Catrina Miller, Events Manager at East Anglian Air Ambulance, said: “Our supporters and race goers continue to astound us with their fundraising efforts. We can’t thank everyone who has taken part in Only The Brave enough. This is a hugely important event to us, raising tens of thousands every year, all of which goes towards helping our crews to save lives.”
The event was sponsored by Bannatyne Health Club and Spa, Lovewell Blake, KLM Engineering UK, Breakwater IT and Aquaterra.
Super early bird tickets for Only The Brave 2020 will go on sale to this year’s runners on Monday 8th April.
