The Great Norfolk Ice Cream Challenge presentation

An official presentation was recently made by Norwich High School for Girls of £494 to East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA), their nominated charity for the Great Norfolk Ice Cream Challenge, which took place at The Royal Norfolk Show 2024.

The challenge, which was conceived and managed by social impact business, Nelsonspirit, in association with Ronaldo Ices, invited young people from Norfolk schools to work with Norfolk businesses at the annual county show. The young people raised money for local charities by selling ice cream. The aim was to inspire the business leaders of tomorrow.

Norwich High School for Girls was one of four that took part alongside Norwich School, Langley School and Ormiston Victory Academy, all choosing to support a different local charity.

Alongside the cheque presentation, EAAA CEO Matthew Jones spoke about the charity and explained how the funds raised would have a life-saving impact in the heart of the community.

Matthew says, “The Great Ice Cream Challenge was a marvellous way to capture the imagination of entrepreneurs of the future while making an impact in the community at the same time.

“EAAA is a charity providing advanced critical care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to the most seriously ill and injured people in the region by air and road. We are humbled that Stevie, Izzy, Elitsa, Betsy and Miranda from Norwich High School for Girls decided to support EAAA through the challenge. It was wonderful to see them again recently to explain how their fundraising will contribute to giving seriously ill and injured people in our region the best chance of survival and recovery.”
