Point Of Care Ultrasound is used by Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care, Anaesthetics and Pre-hospital specialist to add valuable information to a clinical assessment. It specifically refers to ultrasound used to make a specific clinical decision.
Our POCUS course is unique in that we teach you the basics of scanning and then how to apply it to pre-hospital cases. We have an expert faculty that have a multitude of different accreditations including BSE, FUSIC, RCEM, FAMUS among others. All of our faculty are active in acute care settings and provide a wealth of knowledge. We also show you how clinical governance is the lynchpin to effective POCUS use in any organisation.
This course is endorsed by The University of East Anglia.

POCUS aims to teach cardiac, abdominal, lung and vascular access ultrasound skills. It sets candidates up with the foundation of learning required to progress these skills in clinical practice.
We teach this course via a mixture of TED style lectures and hands on scanning of our wonderful volunteers. All our faculty are experts in point of care ultrasound, and we have faculty from FUSIC, RCEM, FAMUS, BSE teaching so please do ask for more specifics if there is something you are particularly interested in.
Aside from the foundation ultrasound skills, you will learn about how to develop good governance for ultrasound, how it is implemented and what it looks like.
We are unique because we teach specific skills using simulation and live demonstration, but we also have a hugely experienced faculty that have everyday working experience of how to manage and utilise POCUS in complex clinical environments.
