Cardiac Arrest

17 April: Near Haverhill


Anglia Two was tasked near to Haverhill to assist EEAST and Police with a man in his fifties who suffered a cardiac arrest. Pilots Rob Gleave and Seb Powderham landed the helicopter in a field near to the scene.

Doctor Mark Clayton and Critical Care Paramedic Liam Sagi gave the patient a full assessment with use of a specialist monitor and provided immediate enhanced care at the scene including administering medication, assisting with the patients breathing, and performing manual chest compressions.

The HEMS crew then accompanied the patient to Addenbrooke's hospital, by road ambulance, for further treatment.
